The U.S.A Air force tenders to stage an FPV RC dogfight Vs. the human fighter pilot. The experiment is supposed to take place in 2021 in the summer. However, it’s time for you and your crew to get ahead of the game with the RC plane dogfight toys.

Why wait for the experiment, and you can hold one in the park with your fellow pilots? Though you’ll be on the ground while the jets test their limit, the FPV gives you the actual reality. Therefore, welcome to horusrc.com, where we offer you affordable airplanes to crash and cause havoc in the air.

What is an RC Plane FPV Dogfight?

Rc jet dogfight refers to a radio-controlled plane that has been fixed with a video camera pointing forward. The camera is what transmits video pictures of your plane while in the air in real-time. This is what is known as “First Person Viewing.”

The video is then transmitted to your goggle headset or monitor giving you the actual piloting experience. It will be like you are in the cockpit of a real combat plane. Furthermore, the camera has been built having various controls that allow a pilot to point in different directions.

If you choose an advanced system for your jet, you can control the camera from your goggle. One can easily control their view by simply turning their heads either side to side or up and down.

The drone is built for battles, making it an interesting sport as the planes are fitted with a light module that showcases hits and firing effects, an infrared hit sensor, and an infrared “cannon. This allows you to engage in actual dogfights and enjoy every moment. You and your friends will be reenacting World War II in this century.

Which FPV frequency to fly on

Your combat plane uses analog video signals sent to the video transmitter. The transmitter is then connected to your pair of goggles or monitor to give you a better viewing as a pilot. When it comes to frequency, there are various ranges to use in transmission.

However, the range depends on you and has its limitations, costs, and benefits. Let’s break it down to understand which frequency is best for you. The frequencies available are:

1.2 GHz or 900 mHzThe lower you get while flying your Remote Personal Viewing (RPV) jet, the greater the penetration and range. When on this frequency, the device gets much bigger; hence you need a ground station to hold your antenna.

  • 2.4 GHz

This is another frequency that makes you piloting a worthwhile experience. The 2.4 GHz has greater penetration and range compared to 5.8gHz. Moreover, the video quality is high, but the quality is low when it comes to the radio transmitters.

You’ll be having interference most of the time, which will spoil your winning streak. Therefore, we suggest not using a 2.4 GHz radio with a 2.4 GHz FPV system. You should stick to a 5.8 GHz frequency if you want to enjoy the whole game without interference.

  • 5.8 GHz

5.8gHz is the most used frequency by Rc jet dogfight. It’s a suitable frequency for your airplane since it doesn’t require much power to transmit signals at a range of 1-2 km. Though, the transmission is clear on an open area when using the right kind of antennas.

Plus, the video and audio qualities are good. The problem is when both of you are using the 5.8 GHz frequency, you’ll need separate channels or band to be effective.

Most fliers prefer the frequency because it doesn’t interfere with your cell phone signals, Wi-Fi connection, or transmitter. This is why most goggles produced today have an inbuilt 5.8 GHz.

The best combat games

There are various games that you could enjoy when controlling your Unmanned Ariel Vehicle (UAV). The best combat games include:

  • Fox and Hound

The game requires the group to fly their planes in a low circle or even figure-eight formation. When on the move, those in front of the pack slow down while those behind them try to catch up and hit them. One only earns a point when contact is made between the aircraft. If you hit a plane and rollover from the impact, you become the alpha and lead the group.

  • Bomb Drop

It’s another game that the Rc combat planes can engage in. All is required is setting up a target and dropping washers with streamers attached. One only score by getting the closure to the target.

  • Night Combat

Playing in the dark has gotten better for fliers when using drone fighter planes. For this mission, your aircraft need to have an LED light installed. The thrilling of chasing each other in the dark is amazing. However, the danger comes in when the planes collide in the dark. Once the light goes out, you are out of the game unless you have an extra plane in your hanger.

Final word

Though combat planes are fun, one need s to be careful when operating them. Besides, there are rules and regulations that one needs to adhere to. Therefore go through them before launching your craft in the air. Your safety should be your top priority.
