Get ahead of the curve with the next game-changing transmitter x lite FrSky. This revolutionary radio blends the functionality and reliability of many FrSky Transmitters with a compact Game Style controller which makes it unique. The X-Lite is ergonomically designed to bring in all the power features, featuring 4 switches and 2 sliders, which means you can still fly your Fixed-wing models as well as multi rotors and helicopters.

Compact in size means you can take it virtually anywhere. It is small as that you can fit in your pocket. It features a Haptic Vibration Feedback System along with voice and sound alert warnings same as Taranis radios. The X-Lite has the smoothest control possible with the pre-installed high precision M12 Lite hall sensor gimbals which ensure a smooth flight. The easy to access battery bay allows for quick, worry-free battery swaps which will provide more battery life to the transmitter.

The X-Lite Frsky transmitter runs on the familiar open-source OpenTX software and the model memory is expandable with the addition of your own micro SD card. Like all of our new transmitters it has the wireless feature that lets you link up wirelessly to other FrSky radios for training, additionally it can link up to the FrSky FreeLink App for monitoring telemetry and configuring, updating, and upgrading receivers. Long-range is an option now with the support of the R9M Lite 915/868MHz module.

Design

When 1st holding the X lite Frsky transmitter, you will immediately notice the almost velvety smooth feel of the matte finish between your palms, then the lightweight becomes apparent. Putting your thumbs on the sticks feels weird at first because they’re much shorter, but it won’t take that much to get used to. You won’t believe how small these switches are until you feel them. Can’t resist mentioning that they are not even the width of a fingernail.

The lightweight feel compared to an X9D and QX7 makes for a more comfortable flight experience. In saying that it does not come with a spot to attach a neck strap, not sure if it’s a bad thing or not, But I never used a neck strap in the past. With its sleek looks, lightweight and Matte finish it definitely feels great in the hands. The weight and its compact size are top advantages compared to it's bigger brothers. Looking at the bottom of the Xlite you'll find and a headphone jack, SD slot, USB Slot (not for charging), and a smart port for updating receiver firmware and such.

With all this in such a tight little compact unit, it makes me wonder why you would need a bigger Transmitter. The X lite FrSky radio comes pre-loaded with OpenTX 2.2.2. Meaning you will need to hold the power button down to turn it on. Holding it down again will start to power off. If you still have a model plugged in it will ask if you would like to continue turning off before actually turning off

Conclusion

Overall X lite Frsky is a great radio. After hearing all the nonsense about stick throw, don’t get worried. But after flying with it for a month, it’s one of the most comfortable Transmitters I've used. The size of batteries is a pain, but if you do your research properly you won’t get caught out like me. There are plenty of options available for the batteries. If you’re tossing up between a Turnigy Evolution and X-lite, I hope this review will help you to make the best decision.
